Can I visit the HMI lab?
Yes, one may visit the HMI lab for academic, research, and professional purposes only. We are not open to the general public. Please send an e-mail to hmi@iiitd.ac.in stating your purpose of visit to get a visiting.

What fields does the lab focus on?
While the major fields which are the central focus of the lab include Affective Computing, Social Robotics, HCI, Ubiquitous Computing, it is not just limited to these but the range even goes up to Social Sciences, Virtual Reality, Neurosciences, Design and is always inviting a larger variety that may add relevance and value to the purpose of the lab.

I have a question regarding one of the projects mentioned. How do I dig deeper?
You may fill in the form provided in the Contact Us section to reach out to us for your queries. You can also contact the project members mentioned on the corresponding project web-pages.

I would like to collaborate with the lab on an ongoing project/ a novel idea. How can I go about it?
As for students, for any collaboration with the lab in terms of projects, please refer to the ‘Join Us’ section to get concrete details of the procedure and find out how to go about the process. Are there any prerequisites for collaborating with the lab?
The prerequisites for collaborating with the lab most essentially include being inspired by our projects, having unique and novel ideas, having identified future directions to your work and being passionate about empowering technology to improve people’s quality of life.

I need some guidance on one of the projects I'm working on. How can I seek help?
Kindly go through our resources to seek information and guidance on a few enlisted things. If you are a dedicated student looking for a supervisor for your bachelor’s or master’s thesis and are willing to work on challenging research problems, please feel free to directly contact Dr. Jainendra Shukla at jainendra(at)iiitd(dot)ac(dot)in. Are the products that are built out of the projects of commercial use? If so, how can I buy them?
We are an academic research enterprise and do not commercialize our work. However, we work closely with industry partners to make the benefits of our work available to the masses, and details of any such products will be made available on the project webpage from time to time. Also, the industry partners are welcome to discuss the commercialization opportunities for any of our projects.

Do you lend your equipment for external projects?
We do not lend our equipment for external projects. However, one can access our equipment by working with us or by collaborating with us on any project.

Are there summer programs/internships for college students?
We do open summer positions for undergraduate, post-graduate, and Ph.D. candidates from time to time. Please check the Join Us section for currently open positions.

Can I work full-time at the lab?
Yes, please refer to our Join Us section for details of the same, and we shall look forward to having you onboard.

I would like to know more about your partners and collaborators. Where can I find the details?
All of our Collaborators are acknowledged within the section giving a glimpse of our entire team.
